Melanie Yost and Barbara Gustavson are certified Brain Health Coaches and have some important information to share with Business Owners and Leaders that can change your business AND your life.
Our brain is responsible for EVERY aspect of our health and well being. Brain health refers to our ability to remember, focus, and think clearly. Our brain is also responsible for planning, organizing, learning and using all the information we give it. It also manages information from our organs and sends the necessary hormones and neurotransmitters needed to keep our body working.
When your brain is healthy, you are happier, more productive and more successful.
Unfortunately, many people experience brain fog, trouble sleeping, difficulty focusing, disorganization. It’s also common for people to struggle with follow through on plans, be impulsive, overly reactivity, and low energy. Just because it’s common, it doesn’t mean it’s not a problem. These symptoms are signals from your brain that something is wrong.
As a business owner, brain health is essential for the success and longevity of your business for multiple reasons.
First, Alzheimer’s is becoming epidemic. It is a disease in which the brain is literally decaying. The Alzheimer’s Association reports that in 2019 over 5.8 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s, and rates are expected to triple over the next 30 years and there are no cures on the horizon. Over 200 medical trials have failed to find medicine that can reverse the symptoms. Experts have discovered is that Alzheimer’s can start in the brain 30-50 years before symptoms are seen.
Second, business owners and entrepreneurs struggle with ADD/ADHD at a higher rate than the general population. They are also at higher risk for depression and anxiety which complicates EVERYTHING in their business and their life and can prevent them from taking full advantage of opportunities, reaching important goals, and finding the success they want.
The good news is that your genes are a predisposition, but not your fate. There are easy and effective changes you can make to remove the risk factors, keep yourself mentally sharp, increase your productivity and experience life more fully.
